Privacy Policy

Suomi ("the App") is developed by 0Quantum ("we", "us"), the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the App.

The short version

There are no accounts and no sign-up. Everything you learn stays on your device. The only data that ever leaves your device is what is needed to sell you a subscription and to remember that you bought one, and even that is not tied to your name or your email.

Data stored on your device

Your learning progress, meaning the words you know, review schedules, streak, XP, accuracy and settings, is stored locally in an on-device database. This data:

• never leaves your device;
• is not readable by us or by any third party;
• is deleted permanently when you delete the App.

We keep no copy, so we cannot restore your progress if you lose your device.

Purchases

If you buy Suomi Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple. We never see your name, your email, or your payment details, and no payment information passes through the App.

To know whether your subscription is active, the App uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service acting as our processor. When you open the App, buy, or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives:

• a random identifier its SDK generates for your installation, and the identifier iOS assigns to this developer on your device (Apple calls it the identifier for vendor). Neither is linked to your name, your email or your Apple Account, and neither is the advertising identifier, which the App never asks for or receives;
• your purchase and subscription history for this app, as reported by Apple;
• your country or region, and basic technical details such as device platform, app version and SDK version;
• your IP address as part of the network request, used to determine your country;
• which screen in the App opened the subscription page, recorded as a single word such as "grammar" or "limit". It tells us which explanation of Suomi Pro is worth keeping. It says nothing about you, and it is not used to target anything at you.

The legal basis is performance of a contract: without this, a subscription you paid for could not be recognised, and Restore purchases could not work. If you never buy anything, there is no purchase data to send.

What we do not do

Beyond the purchase data described above, the App contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no crash reporting, and no social network SDKs. Nothing you study is measured or sent anywhere: which words you get wrong, how long you spend, when you open the App and whether you come back are all invisible to us. We do not profile you, and we do not sell or share data with anyone for marketing. There is no cross-app or cross-site tracking, which is why the App never shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Text to speech

Spoken words use the speech engine built into your device, which processes them under Apple's own privacy policy. No text is sent to us.

Network access

Learning works fully offline. A connection is needed only to show prices, to complete a purchase, and to restore one.

Retention

On-device data lives until you delete the App. Purchase records held by RevenueCat are kept for as long as they are needed to honour what you bought and to meet accounting obligations. Apple keeps its own transaction records under its own policy.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, or erasure of the data described above, and you may complain to your local supervisory authority. Write to the address below and we will act within 30 days. Note that because the purchase identifier is random and carries no name or email, a request has to come with enough detail for us to find the record, such as the date and type of your purchase.

Children

The App is suitable for all ages. It asks no one for personal information, and it is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
